
Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18, 1980)[1] is an American actress and singer from the United States. Her acting career began by performing in stage productions when she was attending the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, she made her Broadway stage debut as Becky Thatcher in the comedy musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and was a part of the Broadway revival of The Crucible the following year. After appearing in the action thriller Spartan (2004) in 2004, she received praise for her performance in Gracie's Choice (2004). After that, she made her Broadway stage debut as Becky Thatcher in the comedy musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. After that she was cast as a character in the popular teen drama TV series Veronica Mars (2004). Her performance earned her critical acclaim and a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress on television. The character was reprised in the 2014 film , as well as the renewal in 2019. Bell starred in the musical Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) as Mary Lane. This was the reprise of her role from her New York musical. Bell also starred in Heroes, a superhero-themed drama in which she played Elle Bishop, from 2007 to 2008. Bell played the titular narrator for the series for teens called Gossip Girl. The 2021 sequel will see her reprise this role. Bell was also the Showtime comedy House of Lies' lead actress, Jeannie van de Hooven. Bell was the lead character Eleanor Shellstrop, the leading role on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy series The Good Place. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award. Bell also played the role of Eleanor Shellstrop in the streaming series The Woman in the Home The Girl in the Window Across the Street Girl in the Window.
